Obituary of Margaret Mary Johnson

Margaret M. "Peggy" Johnson, 83, of Marcellus, NY passed away peacefully on August 5, 2021.  Peggy was a retired nurse before working many years as an office coordinator.  She loved to travel, read, needle point and most of all be surrounded by her family.

Peggy is predeceased by her husband, William R. Johnson, parents, Gregory and Margaret Sawmiller, brother, Gregory "Bud" Sawmiller and sister, Mary Pat Tierney.  She is survived by her husband, James Smith, children; Brendan (Pauline) of Brockport, NY, Timothy (Tom King) of NC, Mary Beth (Tom) Cagney of White Plains, NY, Kevin (Jennifer) of Syracuse, NY, Kristen (Peter) Draveck of Saratoga, NY, William (Marlene) of Middletown, RI, Steven of Syracuse, Robert (Annette) Smith of Kentucky, Kristin (Rick) Reagan of Marcellus, James (Maureen) Smith of Syracuse, and Michael (Virginia) Smith of Canandaigua, NY, 18 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and one on the way, sisters-in-law, Kathy Fiumano and Joanne Sawmiller, both of Syracuse and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 10:30am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 1 Main St., Marcellus, NY 13108.  Calling hours will be on Monday, August 9, 2021, from 4 to 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave, Syracuse, NY. Burial will be private.
