We wish to extend our condolences to the Coleman family on the loss of Peter. We have wonderful memories of great graduations and rehearsal dinners at your restaurant. What a wonderful family you have both raised together. Wish we had been able to attend the services. Peter’s favorite greeting to my husband Ron was always “good guy”! He truly was the best and will always be remembered. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mary Beth and all of her family.

Sending deepest sympathy to the Coleman Family. My Father and Peter were
good friends! We would (and still do frequent Coleman's ) Utica to Syracuse
Never too far to drive.
I have fond memories of being married in front of the fireplace on
Feb 19,2005 with Peter cleaning all the small glass on the windows
prior to the ceremony starting. He was a great man and always had
time to talk to everyone! RIP

Sending all my love and prayers to Mr. Coleman's family and friends. Peter Coleman was truly one of a kind and had gift of making everyone laugh. He was the type of person who everyone loved to be around, and I see those same qualities in his children and grandchildren. May the wonderful memories give his beautiful family peace during these difficult times. Raising up a glass of green beer in his honor (wishing I had some of his delicious Shepard's pie to go along with it). All our love, The Chimento Family

I can understand thru my recent experience, the sorrow that is yours, Mary Pat! You & the family have my sincere sympathy. I got to know you & Pete through John as you know. On occasion when some time had passed btw their seeing each other, it was a pleasure to witness their faces lite up, a shout of “Cregan” & shoulder hugs, every time! What a gift to share, friends from the time they were “young bucks”!
Over the years I was privileged to listen in amazement & laughter at some of the shenanigans they pulled. Esp the summer escapades in their sojourn to the Adirondacks! Too many to share, but I can imagine that poor proprietor when he saw that bunch coming asking the “saints to preserve them”!!!
Since Mr. Martin was mentioned, I do know a favorite tale told over & over as only their shared love of the gift of an Irishman’s story could do justice!!! I’m not clear after all this time if John was there, but I do know Pete became Nutty’s Guardian angel as time went on & that he lived very close to the “old” Coleman’s saloon. One eve Mr. Martin was too unsteady to be walking home. He got tired of the fuss & Pete called a cab. They got him safely settled, paid the driver who asked”where to?”Nutty exclaimed “back er up!!!” I still get a rise from that tale & can imagine the carry on that followed to this day!
My intention is you get a smile thru your tears, I pray you did! Life separated us for some time, but the goodness & friendship remains true! I image there’s a host of dear friends catching up with each other -“Saints preserve us!!!”
Sorrow’s not forever, Love is!❤️
Chris & “Cregan”

The love Peter had for this Tipperary Hill neighborhood and what you have all done to keep and grow the Irish spirit here is a testimony to the GIFT he was to this world and this cherished neighborhood. What a spirit that will forever be felt on N. Lowell Avenue!

Dear Mary Pat & family,
There are no words I can think of to adequately convey my condolences for your loss of Peter / Dad. He was iconic & a true gentle man & gentleman. I had a privilege to see him almost everyday for 17 years & each time he greeted me with a hug & I knew they were from his heart. The blessing below I feel was his mantra - he was the real deal. You are in my heart & prayers.

Sending our best from Benton Missouri USA
This tremendous loss is felt across the miles.... I grew up on Tipp Hill in the late 70's, 80's and 90's. Whether attending Sacred Heart School or throughout Highschool; Pete was a prominent figure. Being an Irish Catholic girl and celebrating yearly with the Coleman family was a tradition, passing on legacy and a way of life. Pete will be dearly missed. I left for college inspired to see Ireland, England, Scottland and France- this was because Pete had an impression on me at a young age to see the Irish Countryside. I then came back to Syracuse with my own family and left again to settle in the Southern states. I have been blessed to share the Irish traditions the Coleman family instilled in myself, the Pete Coleman way. I have been blessed to pass them down to my son and celebrate them with husband. We will always have a little piece of Ireland that we have in our hearts because Pete was a one of a kind true Irish Gent that left his mark. Whether bringing people together, celebrating nad honoring tradition, establishing the stone throwers memorial or establishing the green on top traffic light; Tipp Hill will always bear the Pete Coleman mark.
You have left our sides, ever in our hearts Mr. Coleman, may you rest in peace
God Bless,
Germaine, Logan and Hunter Kirk ( The Kirk Family)
Benton Missouri USA
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Some of my fondest memories of my days in public life started at The Quick Cup with Peter, Dick Allen, Cookie Calolia and others. Peter was a great friend and a big supporter.
He made me laugh and find the joy in every day life.
He did so much for the neighborhood with all the homes he restored.
God bless Mary Pat, always at his side supporting him, and my hope for his family is that they know how beloved he was by many. I hope it brings you all comfort.

A special person he was. When I heard the news of Peter,s passing it brought up great memories. Mary Pat and the kids he was the best. I have a Goblet that Peter and Mary Pat gave to my wife and I when we married in 1969. It has our names engraved on it and it's special to us. We have been gone from the Cuse since 1985 but when we come to visit we always stopped to see Peter at the Pub. He was a man you couldn,t forget. Mary Pat and the family, our loss is heavens gain. God Bless you all.

My heart stopped briefly last night when I heard about Peter passing! So many wonderful and fun nights trading jokes and stories with the Pit Lord in the old salon saloon and after in the new and improved palace!
We could still make each other laugh last time I saw him a few months ago and I'll always remember the many years there starting when I was "almost" 17 shh!!
My thoughts are with Mary Pat and the family who Peter was so proud of! Many great times and memories of Coleman's that will always be with me. I got to share with him my trip to ireland to explore where my family Coyne Family lived in western galway. He was a force of nature and will never be forgotten by those who knew him. He made everyone feel like family. PLUS the food and drinks were always great even back to the boiled hot dogs!!
Relax peacefully Peter, I know you've got heaven laughing already!
