Obituary of Kathryn E. Rea

Please share a memory of Kathryn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Kathryn E. (Klamm) Rea, 89, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home on February 1, 2022 with her family by her side.  She graduated from St. Patrick’s High School, and retired from The Propagation of the Faith, Diocese of Syracuse.

Kay’s grandchildren were quoted as saying, “Gamma Rea is our favoritest person in the world.”  Friends and family agree that Kay’s presence always provided a warm and comfortable, joyous tone as though everything is, and will be, okay. And it shall.

Kay is predeceased by her husband, John Rea, and daughter, Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie” Rea.

She is survived by her daughter, Terri Rastellini, son, Jon (Kristen) Rea, grandchildren, Jonathan (Amanda) Rea, Jessica (CJ) Rea, Oliva Rea, Fiona Rea, Evan Rea, Lizzie (Kyle) Bottorff, and great-grandchildren, Elijah, Ayden and Oliver.

Funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at St. Patrick’s St. Brigid’s Church, 216 N. Lowell Ave. A calling hour will be held immediately prior at the church from 9am to 10am. Burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of CNY: 990 7th North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088
