Obituary of Ray Earl Caldwell
Ray Earl Caldwell, 90, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022 with his family by his side. Ray was born in Trafford, AL on 12/24/1931 to George Earl and Eunice M. (Brakefield) Caldwell. Ray served in the U.S. Army for 20 years and was a combat veteran as a soldier in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. He received a Purple Heart and was awarded the Bronze Star. Ray worked in several occupations, retiring from the Miller Brewing Company. He was well known for being able to fix or build anything.
He was predeceased by his wife, Judith and former wife, Grace.
Ray is survived by his children, Cheryl (Barrett), Derrick (Arlene), Randal (Rose); stepchildren, Belinda (Andy) Gamms, John Pekoff, and Scott Avery, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at the Syracuse VA and Iroquois Nursing Facility for their care and compassion.
Funeral services will be held in Clanton, AL with Ellison Memorial Funeral Home.
