Being that I no longer am in the area, I just learned of Tom's passing. I was a caregiver to Tom for a short time at Brookdale Manlius. Although it wasn't very long, he taught me lessons I will carry on into my life. Tom was always excited to see me and claimed I was the one who actually cared for him there, and I truly did. I would spend extra time in his room helping his with his physical therapy and keeping him company. As much as this helped Tom, it helped me more. I am thankful to have known him, despite it being for a short time, and I know he's up there now smiling while looking down on you all. He loved his family more than anything, and I am happy he finally can be reunited with his wife.
