Obituary of Sally H. Coman

 Sally Hollenbeck Coman, 88, passed away at Francis House on Friday, May 27, 2022.

 

Sally was a lifelong resident of Syracuse. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Nazareth College and her master's degree from Syracuse University. Prior to her retirement, she taught in the nursing program at Onondaga Community College for more than 20 years.

 

Sally was predeceased by her husband Thomas, her infant son, David Joseph, her parents, Albert and Mary Hollenbeck, and her sister Rosemary Mahoney.

 

She is survived by her four children, Kathleen Tarantino (Ben), Thomas Coman, Jr. (Jennifer), Patricia Dunn (Kevin Farmer), and Kevin Coman (Deb), her grandchildren, Peter, Caitlin, David and Maggie (Collin Neises) Tarantino, Daniel Dunn, and Brian, Patrick and Thomas Coman, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

 

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 4pm to 7pm at Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Avenue, Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 12pm at Most Holy Rosary Church, 111 Roberts Avenue, Syracuse. Burial will follow at Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Sally's memory may be made to Francis House, 108 Michaels Ave, Syracuse, NY 13208.
