Obituary of Donald E. Reney

Donald E. Reney, 95, of Syracuse passed away on June 10, 2022. He graduated in 1944 fro Blodgett Vocational High School. A WWII Veteran who served with the 174th Tank Battalion in the European Theater of Operation His battalion entered Hitler's Headquarters.  He worked for Crucible Steel Co. for 39 years as an electrician and was the electrical supervisor of the department.  Donald married his childhood sweetheart, Winifred L. Reney for 59 years.  They had two girls, B.G. Reney, who died in child birth, and Lynn D. Reney who died five months after her mother passed in 2008.  His favorite sports was golf and bowling, but most of all was his family, who he loved with all his heart. 

 

Donald was predeceased by his wife, Winifred, daughter, Lynn, parents, Eva and Alfred, and 3 brothers.

 

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 10am at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Syracuse. Calling hours will be prior from 9 to 10am at the funeral home. Donald will be put to rest, in St Mary’s Mausoleum, DeWitt, NY, beside his family.
