Obituary of Marjorie Elizabeth Kearney

Please share a memory of Marjorie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Marjorie Elizabeth "Marge" Kearney of Westvale passed away peacefully on January 8th with family by her side. Marjorie was born in East Syracuse on November 4, 1926, to William and Florence O’Connor. Marge was an active parishioner of the St. Charles Parish and donated countless hours to multiple church organizations supporting the enrichment of the parish and fellow parishioners.

Marge loved her Irish heritage, spending time with her family and friends at the Kearney cottage on Moon Lake.  She enjoyed observing wildlife and feeding birds near her home and cottage. Marge and her husband Jim traveled extensively throughout the Northeast, and the couple enjoyed multiple trips to Ireland and other countries in Europe.  Marge raised seven children and she spent over 30 years lovingly caring for her son Mark, who was injured in a tragic construction accident at an early age, and her husband James, who suffered from dementia for many years.

Besides her parents, Marge was predeceased by: her husband James, and sons, James Jr. and Mark, her sister, Anne Helinski, and her brothers, Francis, and Robert O’Connor, as well as her grandson, Adam D’Agostino. Marge is survived by her children: Chris (Gerry) Maslona, Peg (Jim) D’Agostino, Jack (Nancy) Kearney, Matt (Kathi) Kearney, Tim (Lezlie) Kearney, 21 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
