Obituary of Timothy Joseph Ryan
Timothy Joseph Ryan, Sr., passed away on February 21, 2023 peacefully in his sleep due to complications of multiple sclerosis. Tim grew up on Orchard Road with his loving mother and father and his 2 sisters and 3 brothers. He was a fun character, with a smile that was contagious, and always the life of the party. These qualities made him an amazing friend, an incredible father, and a loving grandfather. Tim loved to raise hell in Tipp Hill with all his best friends and they did a lot of that. He loved sports and would watch every game he could, he was a huge Jets fan and was proud to let you know it. Tim always took the family vacations to Daytona to go watch the Daytona 500, he loved to watch Bill Elliott race. He had a passion for live music and traveling. He went to see hundreds of concerts all over the country with his son, Timmy Jr, you name the band, they saw it together. Tim loved to hunt and fish. His favorite times were out at camp with his brothers hunting, or out on the lake fishing. Even if he didn’t catch a fish, he always caught a buzz. Tim was good at that he always said, “I am here for a good time, not a long time” and he made sure he partied that way.
Tim was blessed with 2 amazing sons who loved him very much, and later in his life 3 beautiful grandsons. It was so important to him to spend time with the grandkids he cherished the time he spent with them. Tim got to spend some of his best years living in Daytona Beach. His sons moved down with him and got to enjoy the sunshine and Tim’s bright smile for a while, and it made him happy to have the family so close.
Timothy was predeceased by his mother, Theresa Ryan, father, Larry Ryan, and sister, Anne Ryan.
Timothy was survived by his sister, Theresa Talev, brothers, Larry Ryan, Mike Ryan, and Dave Ryan. He was also survived by his son, Timothy J. Ryan Jr, Michelle Milani, and grandson, Timothy J Ryan III (Trey), and his son, Kevin Ryan, Jennifer Zufelt, and grandsons, Grayson Zufelt, and Jaxson Ryan.
Tim battled multiple sclerosis for many years and had overcome so many things. We have decided, considering the circumstances, that we will pay our respects properly. Services will be held March 3rd at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave Syracuse, NY 13219 from 4 to 6:30 with a memorial at 6:30. This is Tim's birthday, so in honor of that lets treat this as a celebration of the life of everyone's best friend, an amazing man, a loving father, and an incredible grandfather. It doesn’t matter if you called him Timmy, Dad, Grandpa, Red, Pooch, or SR. Dose up, bring your dancing shoes, smoke em if ya got em, and let's show Tim one last good time the way he would have wanted it.
