Lois was such a gentle, kind, loving, and generous person.
She had the gift of making people feel welcomed and comfortable. I have many fond memories of her.
Once, when I was at the house for dinner (70's), Lois let it be known, just before she cut the cake, that whoever got the toothpick in their piece of cake, got to do the dishes. I was the lucky one.
I was blessed to be able to vacation with Lois and her family to Martha's Vineyard (70's). It was such a gift to be able to do this. I was able to get to know Cal, Jennifer, Andrea, and Melissa. We girls had an exciting (actually, scary time) with the horses chasing us. We crawled under or jumped the fence. We made it to safety.
My sincere heartfelt condolences to Jennifer, Andrea, Melissa, Jude, Ralph, Jeff, and the entire Sayles family.
