James "Jim" Michael Crawford, 78, passed away peacefully Friday morning April 5, 2024 at St. Camillus. Son of the late Ralph and Mary Jane (Gaffney) Crawford. Born Columbus, Ohio.

He's survived by his loving wife, Jeannine (Hitchings) Crawford of 53 yrs, older son Mike (Robin) Crawford, 2 grandchildren Pat and Jack, younger son Chris Crawford, his sister Judy Coffin, and niece and nephew Andréa and Taylor Bucci. He graduated from Eastwood HS in 1967. He enlisted in the army and was stationed in Germany for 3 yrs. After, he came back to Syracuse where he met and later married his wife.

He obtained his BA in Commercial Art & Design at Pratt Institute. After working 12 years in NY, NY he came back to Syracuse to raise his sons and worked for Eric Mower and Associates as Creative Director. Then in 1991, working from his own home, he started his business, Creative Directions Advertising, Graphic Design & Art Direction as President, CD. He published a cartoon book, The Unofficial Rules of Sailing. Special interests: reading history & mythology, camping with family, painting/ watercolor, genealogy & sailing.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aprill 11, 2024 at 6:30pm at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Calling hours will be prior from 4 to 6:30pm. Burial will be private.
