Dear Maureen,
Yesterday’s ‘celebration of George’s life’ was a comfort. So many reaching out in their own ways to ‘hug’ you and Jenny, i know means a lot to you. I for one am GRATEFUL for your loving care for George, esp. as his health declined- and he never doubted your and Jenny’s tireless efforts on his behalf.
I’ve faith that now Lee, and George live on in the hearts of everyone who loved them. We will celebrate their memories, missed but never forgotten.
Like those they dearly loved who went before them, Lee & George’s souls have moved on, but they will always be with you, Jenny, and all of the nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends who also mourn them.
We pray that in time, the tender moments and FUN memories will fill your hearts, and the cherished days’ of the past will give you Peace.
Please know that we are here for you.
Love you always,
with sympathy,
Marilyn
& Don

Dear Ida, and all of George’s siblings,
Please accept our sincere sympathy for the loss of your brother, George.
Ida, George was blessed to have you, Jay, your children, siblings, and his close friends. Especially Maureen and Jenny, by his side while he did his best to regain his health...
Don and I share comfort in knowing George is no longer suffering and is at Peace. Sending our love and support to you Ida,and your kids. How proud George was of all his nieces and nephews, and the people they’ve grown to be.
As you each begin your journey without George (or your sister Ann who went before him) remember that close family and faith sustains us.
Love,
Don & Marilyn McNamara

Dear Maureen & Jenny,
Please know that Dan, Maria and I have cherished memories of George and we love you. There is boundless love and prayers being offered for you both.
Maureen, your half century with George was an incredible gift—a silver lining to his life. Though your beloved Lee passed before George, I believe they rest safely together in Peace.
I know you will always be grateful for the way George was good to his kids, their cousins and their friends. George had his struggles, but had an undiminished capacity to love. George said he appreciated the genuine goodness and selflessness of our Dad, his father-in-law, John Costello, “his compass” in that regard.
You & Jenny have so much to be proud of in George's life. His creativity, poems and drawings, his quick wit, and ability to tell it like he saw it, George’s sobriety against all odds, George’s perseverance, yet acceptance of his life, even his ‘end of life’.
And Maureen, you have made me and all who know you proud, too, because we can see so much of how you & Jenny supported George in countless ways!
I will miss George. His intelligence. His sense of humor. I will miss his appreciation of the very simple things like postcards that Don & I sent while traveling cross-country over the years. I’ll miss George’s ‘always being around’ - even when not present at family events. I’ll miss him cutting to the chase when I’d be anxious & overthinking…he quipped they were my “phone calls from the edge”.
In this time of sorrow, mixed with gratitude for the sheer joy of the fun parts of George’s life, please know we are with you! And the good parts we loved of George are always still around!
Sympathy and Love,
Marilyn

Oh so sorry to hear about George. When I did see him we would talk about guitars. When I told him my grandson has a Les Paul guitar, his eyes got real wide. George had moved away from my building but I thought of him often. He talked about how much he loved his children. He was a special guy and a kind, gentle soul. Fly high George. Thanks for all the great talks!
