Obituary of Thomas A. Dugan
Thomas A. Dugan, 74, of Syracuse passed away at home on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
Tom was born in Syracuse to Jack and Dorothy (Lewis) Dugan. He was a Vietnam veteran serving in the Army’s 101st Airborne Division. After coming home, he worked at Miller Brewing company until its closure and then Jaiquith Industries. He spent many years volunteering his time with the Camillus Winter Sports Association helping to maintain the ski hill. In the summer he could often be found on his sailboat on Skaneateles Lake or traveling to Cape Cod. Most of all Tom loved spending his time with his wife, sons, daughter-in-law along and his granddaughter, who referred to him as her beloved “Pops.” Tom was an avid Yankees fan, enjoyed long walks with the family dogs, hiking in the adirondacks and worked many years at the state fair in his later years. He was a friend and neighbor who was always willing to lend a hand.
Tom is survived by his wife, Jeanne, 2 sons, Jeff (Danielle) and Brian, brother, James (Elaine), granddaughter, Daisy along with several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents, brother, Jack and sister, Janice.
Calling hours will be held Monday, September 16, 2024 from 4-6pm at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Burial will be on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 11am at Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association, The Tunnels to Towers Foundation or Camillus Winter Sports Association.
