I’ll always remember Billy laughing or smiling at some well-timed or witty joke.
We jammed a few times and once played this repetitive thing in D pentatonic scale that went on for what seemed like days.
Billy aptly called it, “I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU DEE”. Lol.
His grin was mischievous.
I loved talking music with him
My condolences to all his family and friends.
He will be missed.
I’ve shared this before and others have said it brought some comfort.
The priest, at my dad’s grave, said we have a promise that we will meet our loved ones again.
I’m not a quote the bible guy but I have this one written down
1 Corinthians 15:22 - “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”
In our time of need, God wants our pain, and to rely more on Him.
This song / poem deals with my dad’s passing, written years later when our friend Bobby Walter (Diane’s brother) left us.
_______
Trampoline
(DiVico)
There was a morning
when darkness came my way
It took me by surprise
and left no words to say
I had to dry my eyes
Then I realized
Your spirit is
with me every day
Some go up, some go down
Some left me without a sound
Won’t close my eyes, I will look around
On this trampoline
I thought I heard your voice in a crowd
I thought I saw your face in a cloud
Don’t you know
I’ll always be proud of you
I saw some lights in the sky from afar
Can you see them where you are?
Don’t you know
I’ll always be proud of you
It took some time to arrive
at what I think is true
The sorrow that we feel
reminds us what to do
When we are shaken
And cherished ones are taken
Dear God, in prayer,
we turn to you
Some go up, some go down
Some left me without a sound
Won’t close my eyes
I will look around
On this trampoline
