Obituary of Pauline M. Gross
Pauline (Masterpole) Gross, 93, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully at the Nottingham Memory Care Residence on Sunday.
Pauline was a lifelong resident of Syracuse and a communicant of St. Charles Church in Westvale for over 60 years. Pauline graduated from The Convent School in Syracuse in 1949, attended Le Moyne College, and worked at Bristol Myers. She spent most of her life dedicated to her family's happiness and well-being, always ready to feed, tutor, transport, and support in every way. She then repeated the dedication to her extended family, offering the same nurturing to her nine grandchildren. Pauline also had many lifelong friends; if her sons mentioned someone, her response was typically, “Oh, I know their mother.” Pauline was pre-deceased in 2021 by her husband of 61 years, A. Paul Gross. She was also recently pre-deceased by her brother, Nicholas C. Masterpole.
She is survived by her three sons, Stephen (Ann) of Syracuse, David (Karen) of Jamesville, and Peter of Houston, TX, along with nine grandchildren, Deanna, Mackenzie, Shannon (Benjamin Ervey), Alexander (Katie), Theodore, Hannah, Benjamin, Kennedy, and David. Her family all says you couldn’t possibly ask for a better mother, grandmother, or mother-in-law.
The family is forever grateful to the Borer Memory Care Facility staff at the Nottingham for the love and care they have provided Pauline for the past three years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday November 2, 2024 at 10am at St. Charles Church, 417 S Orchard Road, Syracuse.
