Linda (Berndt) McPherron, 80, of Syracuse, NY made her transition from this world on November 11th in her home with loved ones by her side.

Linda was born in Syracuse, NY to Joseph and Marion Berndt of Lakeland, NY on October 8, 1944.  She graduated from Solvay High School and went on to become a registered nurse.  Linda served as an extraordinary nurse in various positions in Syracuse and in the Watertown/ Clayton area. Her work as a hospice nurse was perhaps her most treasured experience. She deeply loved her family, especially her grandsons. We will remember her for her generosity, strength and guidance.

Besides her compassion as a caregiver and her organizational skills, Linda will be remembered for her wit, humor, and for the dignity with which she treated all people.  She loved the St. Lawrence River, fishing and boating. She had a great love for all animals, especially her cats.

Linda is survived by her son, Jay Dydyk, of Cape Cod, her daughter, Jayme Johnson of Baldwinsville, her sisters, Cathy “Cybie” Mauro of Syracuse and Sharon Bouscher of Everett, Washington, her grandsons, David and Matthew Johnson and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her sister, Peggy Berndt and her parents, Joseph and Marion Berndt.
