Obituary of Francis M. Lasher

Francis M. Lasher, 81, of Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2015. Francis was a retired building manager of the MONY Towers downtown (now AXA towers). He was an usher at St. Charles Church, a bingo volunteer at the town of Geddes Recreation Center, and an avid golfer. Francis loved to cook, loved Syracuse sports, enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and loved walking the streets of Westvale and holidays with his family. He is predeceased by his son, Marc DeSocio; his mother, Emelia; his father, Leo; brothers, Earl and Richard; and sisters, Lois and Sylvie. He is survived by his beloved wife, Louise Lasher and children; Stephan Lasher (Trish), Diane Garland (Bill), Michelle Cavanaugh (Richard), Christine Karas, Renee McKee (Bill), Monique Jackson , John DeSocio (Patty), Danielle Aversa (Sal), Pierre DeSocio, Andree Kerner, sister-in-law Monique Finan, 25 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 10am at St. Charles Church. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 4 to 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave., Syracuse. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt, NY. In lieu of Flowers, donations in Francis' honor may be sent to St. Charles Church: 4461 Onondaga Blvd. Syracuse, NY 13219.
