Obituary of Marie Therese McCarthy

Marie Therese McCarthy, 88, of Syracuse passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. She was born in Syracuse, NY and was a lifelong communicant of Most Holy Rosary Parish and a graduate of Most Holy Rosary School. Although she was widowed at a young age she devoted her life to lovingly raising her children. She had a kind and caring spirit and was dedicated to her entire family. Her family was blessed to have had her in their lives. Marie Therese was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. and granddaughter, Meghan Staley. She is survived by her children; Kathleen (Martin) McDermott, Maureen Staley, Mary Pat (Joseph) Sterbank and Madeline (Jeff) Ritchie, brother, Ralph (Mary) Fox, 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 10am Monday, April 6, 2015 at Most Holy Rosary. Calling hours will be held 1 to 4pm on Saturday, April 4 at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt.
