Obituary of Edward R. Haines

Edward R. Haines of Lakeland passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was born in New Britain CT. He worked 30 years at Carrier and was chief union steward for Sheet Metal Workers Local 527. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with his family. He was a fan of Boston University and SU basketball and the Yankees. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret (Brown) Haines; 3 sons, Mark (Mary), Michael (Kim), and Patrick (Lora) and daughter, Melissa (Steve) McCarthy. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Dylan, Audrey, Justin, McKayla, Kayla and Nicholas. Services will be held Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 9:30 am at St. Brigid's Church, 318 Herkimer St. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 4 to 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Brigid's food pantry, 318 Herkimer St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
