Obituary of Timothy B. Kissane

Timothy B. Kissane, (The Galtee Mountain Boy), went safely home to heaven on Friday, December 13th, at St. Joseph Hospital. Born in Ballydavid, County Tipperary Ireland on 7/19/31. He came to the U.S. in 1960 where he enjoyed the last 54 years married to his predeceased wonderful wife Bridie Kissane.
Survived by his son, Timothy Kissane, daughters, Rosemarie (Joe) Schiltz and Bernadette (Chuck) Tomeny, his six grandchildren, Jameson, Sean, Bailey, Tyler, Courtney, and Paige, son at heart, Brian Timmins of Fort Lauderdale, FL., brothers, Al (Phyllis) Kissane and John (Jenny) Kissane and sister, Kathleen (Russell - predeceased) Bryant of Syracuse, brothers, Dermot, Matt and Finbar Kissane, and sisters - Rita Ryan, Eileen O'Brien, and many, many family and friends.
He was predeceased by his wife Bridie, and his parents, Timothy & Ellen Kissane, and sister, Mary McCasland.
Tim retired from construction industry after many dedicated years of hard work in Ireland, England, and USA. He was a member of the A.O.H. for many years. He was a communicant of St. Michaels-St. Peters Church of Onondaga Hill.
He had a heart of gold and valued his family above all else. He was a great supporter of Irish freedom and his favorite expression was "Up the 32!" He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and would do anything for anyone in need. He loved to travel and has now taken his greatest journey to serve as one of God's very best angels. Although gone, he will never be forgotten.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, 10AM at St. Michael - St. Peter Church, Onondaga Hill. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, 4-7 PM at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tim's name to combat pediatric cancer in CNY at Paige's Butterfly Run, P.O. Box 494, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
