Obituary of Francis W. Carolin

Francis (Pete) W. Carolin, 83, of Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2017. Pete worked for American Airlines for 35 years and 40 years at Corcoran High School part time. He graduated From St. Lucy's High school and proudly served with the navy for 4 years. In retirement Pete spent 20 years in Florida for the winters and enjoyed Cape May, NJ in the summers. Pete was proud of being brought up in Tipperary Hill. He was a member of Old Rascal's golf team and was an avid NY Yankee's fan. Pete was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Catherine Carolin. He survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirlee, his children, Peter, Laura Bouvia, and Anne (Michael) Briggs, 4 grandchildren, Alisha Calkins and Patrick, Daniel and Jordan Briggs, his Aunt, Florence Gebhardt Modafferi, and several cousins. The family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff at Iroquois Nursing Home for their wonderful care. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 10am at Holy Family Church, Fairmount. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 7pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave., Syracuse. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pete's memory to Maureen's Hope Foundation; 44 Oswego St., Baldwinsville, NY 13207 or Holy Family Food Pantry; 127 Chapel Dr, Syracuse, NY 13219
