James "Jim" S. Young, 68, of Camillus, NY passed away at home on Thursday, March 30, 2017. He graduated from Most Holy Rosary High School and Gannon University, where he enjoyed his TKE brothers. After graduation Jim worked with the CYO as director of Lourdes's Camp. He then worked more than 40 years as a financial planner at Mass Mutual. Jim was an active member at St. Joseph's Church in Camillus, NY and an avid golfer and member at Drumlins Country Club. He was the proud Pop Pop to his 4 grandchildren. Jim is predeceased by his parents, Marie F. Barnett and Stanley R. Young. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Donna, 2 children; Eric (Heather) and Erin (Clinton) McConnell; 4 grandchildren, 6 siblings; Nancy (Dr. H. Ward) Trueblood, Kathy (George) Workman, Tom (Paula) Young, Mary (Harry) Nasikan, Susan (Bill) Reynolds and John Young and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Joseph's Church, Camillus, NY. Burial will be in St. Agnes Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives for a celebration of life on Tuesday April 4, 2017 from 4 to 7pm at Pascale's Italian Bistro at Drumlins; 800 Nottingham Rd, Syracuse, NY 13224 In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jim's memory may be made to Vera House; 6181 Thompson Rd. Suite 100, Syracuse, NY 13206; Elmcrest Children's Center; 960 Salt Springs Rd., Syracuse, NY 13244 or The Brady Faith Center; 404 South Ave, Syracuse, NY 13204.
