Mrs. Slade was a warm, welcoming, and caring neighbor. Kara was the cat that my sister, Melissa, found. Your mom took her in because the cat was declawed and she was concerned for her well-being and inability to survive outside. Kara was lucky to have found your mother. Little, tiny, purple flowers grew under Mrs. Slade's big tree in her front yard and I admired them as a child. Often, she would come outside and let me pick them. My sisters and I also fondly remember sitting on her back porch with her. Mrs. Slade made our childhood warmer and brighter with her smile. She will be missed. May she rest in peace.
