One of our first memories of Helen was when we first moved to our Ruskin home, is Helen's smile and warmth. Helen was very active. I would see her walking, see her at the weekly tea gathering, enjoying time with her friends and very active on our street while always keeping a watchful eye out for her family. I will remember her smile that was filled with such joy. You could not help but be drawn to her spirit. Her love of faith and family was evident in everything she did. She was a great piano teacher, too. She had the patience of Job! Each of you have honored your mother in a most beautiful and courageous manner by allowing her to be in her home until the very end. Love like that is expressed back to those who taught them how to love. May God grant you strength, peace, comfort and love during this difficult time. Blessings, Mary and Mike Drake

I want to extend heartfelt sympathy to the entire Popp family at this difficult time. I was deeply saddened to learn of Helen's passing, a long time friend and neighbor. There are countless memories and stories she created with my wife, Keith Anne, and they were all happy. From bowling, singing in church, neighborhood parties, “borrowing” Tom's secret recipes, or just chatting on the phone about our families.
Everyone loved Helen as a true friend. She will be missed. But the love she felt from her children was outstanding. The past few years were so difficult for all of you but not a day went by without any of you showing it by your presence. She wanted to live the rest of her life at home on Ruskin, and you all made that possible. you should be happy and proud of this.
Don’t grieve too much for this separation of not seeing her, because she is still so very close to each of you. She and Tom are together with our Lord and through our faith we know we will see them both again. Strange as it seems, you can still talk with her and though maybe not hear her actual voice, she will respond and you will get her message. She remains close by.
My prayers are with you.
Bob Bornhurst.

To the Popps,
Your mom was the sweetest lady. My parents Bob and Virginia Warne both have dementia, but they remember wonderful times spent with Helen and Tom at the Steak and Rib Room at the Yates Hotel, at the General Hutchinson House, and whenever the St. Mike's Group got together, especially for the Super Bowl parties. Condolences from the Warne family.

In the early 1970s I was the leader of a Girl Scout troop at Most Holy Rosary Church. Helen was my assistant. She was a great person to work with. We loved what we were doing. As the years have gone by, I lost track of her but the memory will always be with me. Condolences to the family. May light perpetual shine upon her. Sedona Thomas Brown
