Dear Paul, Jennifer, Allison, Margaret and Adalynn,
Our sincere sympathy to each of you. I can't imagine your pain. Our daughter, Michelle, also went through school with Sean and was so sad to learn that Sean had died. Michelle, through the years, has mentioned the terrible bicycle accident Sean was in and that he was in the hospital for a long time. I think it was a shock that something so tramatic could happen and the memory stayed with her. On Monday Michelle again mentioned the accident and spoke about how funny and friendly Sean was. Michelle said that in high school "Sean wasn't like some of the boys. He was always sweet and funny with me."
Love,
Mary Jane Monsour

Dear Mr. Casey and Jennifer, I am so saddened to hear about Sean. He had a great sense of humor and was always so kind to me. I have a great memory of him performing in our 6th-grade variety show--he was in a 2-person comedy skit and it was the hit of the show. My heart goes out to you.
With my deepest sympathy, Michelle Monsour

I want to say hi to Sean’s dad, Paul, who I knew when I lived in Strathmore. My last name was Beadling then, my son is Keir Beadling. Keir and Sean were friends from the time they were in elementary school at Roberts. I remember Sean as a smart, friendly, spunky neighborhood boy. We moved from Strathmore in 1984, and I remember hearing about Sean being hit while riding his bike, a horrible life-changing accident. Currently (before this social distancing), I am a regular breakfast volunteer at the Samaritan Center downtown, Mon and Weds morning. Several months ago, I was serving coffee and a young man approached me and asked about my son Keir. I did not recognize him until he told me he was Sean Casey. We talked for awhile, and as he talked, I caught glimpses of the young boy I had known over 30 years ago. Over the last few months, I often saw Sean and always made a point of talking with him, even if we had only a few minutes. He talked about his mom, who died of breast cancer years ago, and his sister, Jennifer, and his dad Paul, each of whom I knew from those Strathmore days. Mostly, when we talked, he’d tell me he was OK, just trying to get his finances together. He was always friendly, never seemed down or depressed, I always got a big smile from him when we saw each other. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to spend time, though in short spurts, with Sean. The last time I saw him was maybe a month or 6 weeks ago. I am thinking of you, Paul. Stay strong.

Was so upset to hear of your sad news and have been thinking of you all. Can't believe what has happened and will be in touch with you Paul and Jennifer in the near future. Sean was the first person my husband and I had ever seen eat a Pizza when he came to stay with us as a teenager with his mother, father and sister. Will call you soon. Much love, Carole
