Mike, Maureen, Mark and family,
It was heartbreaking to hear that your Mom passed away. She was a wonderful woman who touched many, many lives with her big heart. She always made you feel special. The twinkle in her eyes, her grin when she laughed (which was often), is and always will be unforgettable. Her Irish wit always made me laugh, even near the end of her life, she never lost her great sense of humor. I can't forget to mention she was my mothers best friend for over 50 years, and they always loved to be together and enjoy each other's company. I'll never forget meeting her with Mike and my mother at the St. Joseph's Nursing Alumni brunches, they were the oldest members and took pride in that- they always felt like celebrities! She always saw the positive in life and it rubbed off on all of us. Rest in peace, HA.
With Deepest Sympathy in your loss.
I've included a photo of Mary Dobbins and Helen (what her beautiful smile) at the 2017 St. Joe's Nursing Alumni Reunion brunch.

Dear Family of Helen Byron:
Your Mom was a wonderful woman. I first met her in 1973, at St Joe’s Hospital. She was in charge of mentoring new grads from other programs to learn the ropes! That she did!
She was a perfect nurse! She knew her stuff, but never made you feel subpar . I will never forget her kindness to me.
She was the greatest .

Maureen, Mike, Mark, So sorry to hear about your mom's passing. Although we haven't seen each other in years, my family and I remember her getting together with my mom (Mary Rose Griffin Kinsella), aunt, other cousins, and grand mother on occasion for a cup of tea. Always a lot of laughter. I believe Helen was my mom's last 1st cousin. An end to a great era, a great generation, and great mom's and dad's! I attached a picture from way back when, (Griffin, Murphy, and Kennedy girls). I hope it comes through. Condolences and RIP, John Kevin Kinsella

Mike, mark, maureen and family. We express our sympathy for the loss of your mother. What a wonderful, vibrant, outgoing, caring, considerate, warm ,funny, positive, energetic, smiling, kind, happy person she was. She was such an intergal part of my childhood and adult life memories. As Diane Coloton said, the Bridge Club, the unique laugh, and all the visits to your house at the holidays. She is finally with all the bridge club, my father and mother, and her husband, my uncle Franny. She will always be remembered as one special woman and will be warmly missed. And thank you Mike for taking our cards to her.

Oh, how my heart sank when I heard Mrs. Byron had passed, though I rejoice for her reunion with her sweet husband - so long gone - and maybe the two of them with having a beer with my dad! Helen was the last of my mom and dad's close friends of yore. She was so patient and kind to us kids, though we feared the nights Mom held "Bridge Club" in our house because we feared loss of sleep due to . . . you guessed it - THAT AMAZING LAUGH. It's not original, but maybe this is: I would pull the covers over my head and exclaim "thar she blows!" She was always so jolly, radiating good cheer no matter what may have been on her mind at the time. And Mike, my sisters and I could never thank you enough for bringing her so often to visit my mom at Van Duyn in the years your Mom was still quite hale and hearty. I had hoped for one more photo of them together. Her (and your) many kindnesses will never be forgotten. Nor will I ever NOT be able to hear your mom's laugh in my head - so spontaneous and authentic, like an audible reminder of life's many blessings. My sincere condolences to Maureen, Mike, Mark, and all the kids.
Sincerely,
Diane Coloton

Helen was one of a kind. Her infectious laugh and witty personality always brought a smile to my face growing up. I was blessed to enjoy the stories and friendship through my dad, Jim Gensler, and through all the extended Gensler family parties where Helen held court and was a staple for us. Thank you for being a part of our family! Rest in Peace!

Dear Maureen,Mike, Mark & the entire Byron Family: We are all deeply saddened by the passing of your mom. What a lady !
Helen was a second mother to all of us Gensler kids. She was always there for us. Our memories of your mom,dad & your family are endless.
I often said if I could leave a time capsule, two of the things that had to be in it would be 1) Helens laugh ... none like it & 2) the lost
Christmas Turkey down the driveway story...only the way Helen could tell it.All time classics.
Your mom wore many hats and wore them well ! Wife, mom, grandmother,RN,volunteer, friend and even the hat of “Mayor of the block”.Now that’s a full life! Helen wore them all and with distinction.
There are no tears in Heaven tonight...I hear laughter, especially Helens laugh,& Helen getting greeted by Franny, Mom Mom,POP POP & all the Kennedy/Byron clan, let alone all her many friends. The Stolp Ave bunch is back at it & I know it won’t skip a beat.
Please accept our condolences and know that your mom,dad & family are loved by All members of the Gensler Family.
Job well done Helen,God Bless ,Rest in Peace & Thank you for everything.
Ann & Jim Gensler
