Obituary of Andrew Shaffer

Andrew Shaffer, 62, of Syracuse passed away on October 22, 2020.  Andy was a co-owner with his brother in the family business; Shaffer Building Services and Giarrosso Sheet Metal Corp.  He was a member of the Memorial Masonic Lodge 648 and was also a longtime member of the I.A.A.C. 

Andy loved his family; his wife, children and grandchildren meant the world to him.  He enjoyed traveling with Linda.  They explored the world together. Andy absolutely loved life.  He could light up a room.  He was kind, generous and a mentor to so many. 

Andy was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Alberta, and his sister, Kathleen.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his daughters, Leslie (Mohammed) Hereba, and Meghan (Darren) Finebloom; step-children, Michael (Lilly) Evans, and Jessica Bray (Hollie Fallstone); grandchildren, Lucas, Theodore, Kaitlyn, Elias, Augustus “Gus,” Mariah, and Mila; siblings, Thomas (Susan) Shaffer, Karen (Rob) Greenstone and Patrick Shaffer and several nieces and nephews.

Andy will be so dearly missed by his family and many friends. 

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 1 to 3:30pm at the Edward J. Ryan and Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. Services and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Women and Children in Crisis: Post Office Box 427, Dewitt, New York 13214 or Syracuse American Heart Association; 2 S. Clinton St #305, Syracuse, NY 13202
