Mrs. Barcza, Lauren, and Scott,
My father sadly conveyed the news of Mr. Barcza’s passing to me this morning. Please accept the most heartfelt condolences from all of the Demkowski family. We have such fond memories from all our days in the cold skating rinks in and around the Syracuse area. We remember him as being a great man who was larger than life. Your tribute is so beautifully written. Sending hugs and prayers to you all during this very difficult time.

Scott,
I am so sorry to learn of your loss. Your Dad's obituary, along with Mr. Malone's personal tribute, portray insight to a remarkable man. I remember his outgoing personality and the way he commanded a room. I hope you are comforted by the many memories of your time shared. You and the Barcza family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Thinking of you all,

Bob, Maureen, MaryEllen and I graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy in 1961 and four years later were and still are married, ironically we live less than a mile up the road from each other even after all this time.
Bob and MaryEllen were voted senior class conversationalists which over the years led to many barbs and witticisms one of which was attending our class reunion which MaryEllen would pressure Bob into picking us up every 5 to 10 years and vice a verse to attend and poke fun at each other all night.
To many Bob had a rough and tough exterior in his approach to sports, golf in particular, and helped him become the successful businessman that he was, but to me on the inside he was a kind caring compassionate person.
When MaryEllen had her head on collision on broad road he and Maureen visited her at St Camillus several times and when we were experiencing legal issues from the accident he showed up at our front door unsolicited to offer his advice and experience when it was sorely needed.
When my dad died he was there thru every phase and had a bench made with a special plaque honoring him and had it placed on his favorite tee box at orchard valley golf coarse.
On my final day in freezing cold February after 37 years at New Process Gear, he was there when I walked thru the gate into the parking lot to give me a hug and congratulations.
In this thing we call life there are many good moments and then there are times like this that are totally unexplainable and leave us forever heart broken.
Maureen, Scott, Lauren, Lisa, Ken and Grandchildren, we are so sorry for the pain and suffering you’ve experienced and the loss you now must endure.
Love
Carmen & MaryEllen

I'm heartbroken over the loss of this kind, generous man who has been a part of my life since I was a child. I don't believe that there was anything that my brother in law Bob wouldn't do for me.
When I think of Bob, I think of popcorn, one of his many specialties. He would make a big pot of popcorn before he and Maureen would take my brother and I to the drive in movie. I know that we went several times, but the one most memorable was The Longest Day, Well, I later let him know that it seemed like the longest night of my life. Being a little girl, war movies were not a favorite. I also remember him taking us to the Valley Field Days, the State Fair and Alexandria Bay.
I have memories of him putting up our family Christmas tree using the the ancient tree stand that I believe my dad or someone made in Jr. High wood shop class. I learned a few new curse words each year.
I have so many fond memories of Bob and I will miss him dearly.

I was very saddened to hear of Bob’s passing today. I have been flooded with “camping” memories since. Yes, Bob’s pancakes were the biggest, hottest and bestest pancakes! He was the best storyteller too ! I remember sitting around the campfire on many nights listening to him tell stories and jokes. I was lucky enough to sit with him at his office a few years back, we reminisced about Browns Tract and I enjoyed getting to hear those stories one last time. I left there with a smile. Maureen, Scott, Lauren and Family, I send you my prayers to help get thru this difficult time, i love you all !

I am so very sorry for the loss of this great man. I remember fondly his gentle hands! As a kid camping at Browns Tract Pond, I let Bob ( check out) my loose tooth! Told him no pulling it, it would hurt! As Bob walked away( with a grin I’m sure) it took me a minute before I yelled back.. Give Me My Tooth!! Never felt a thing
My family and I have many wonderful memories of spending summers camping with The Barza’s.
I am forever grateful Bob and Maureen came to spend the evening with my Mom in her finally weeks. She enjoy that day immensely!!
Maureen, Scott and Lauren I am sure they are sitting around a campfire reminiscing and planning a few pranks!!
I am very sorry for your loss. Even more so that you could not be with him to touch and hold in his final hours!!
My thoughts and prayers are with you all
