My Nonnie was the best grandmother I could have ever asked for. When I was a baby and a child I spent most of my life at her house - her and Papa took great care of me. As we grew up (me Brenna and Jojo) she was always right by our side in anything we did . She was by far the best cook around , very artistic, very stylish , and truly one of the best and sassiest Italian souls around. She touched so many lives and became a “second grandmother” to many people around us. I’m going to miss her so much , and our traditions won’t be the same - but I can’t wait to carry them with me. I’ll love my nones forever ❤️ Kenzie

My Nonna was a beautiful, talented, kind, and amazing soul! She was a blessing to this world. She would visit Arizona every year and came to our games and competitions. She made me and my sister a beautiful quilt and many crafts to give to us for presents; We will always cherish them. I love her so much. And she is deeply missed. - her great granddaughter- Madison Lewis ❤️

This is heartbreaking for me to hear! Christmas surely was her special time! I’d always visit on Christmas Eve Day and see all the beautiful decorations around her house! I’d see the Christmas cookie storehouse on the porch! I’d see those Santa Hats on the backs of the dining room chairs! I loved them so much that I made a pattern from one of them your Mom lent me and bought red velvet fabric to make them for my dining room! I hope someone in your family has them so that legacy continues in her memory! I’d love visiting your Mom anytime and on Christmas I would always leave with a plate of those delicious cookies...which also happened when Meg and I visited her a few years ago at her senior apartment.
I hope your Mom passed peacefully! I hope some family were allowed to be with her. My father died on Dec 23 and we thought Christmas would be forever changed...but we were wrong! Christmas was my father’s time to shine...his favorite time of year. He loved toy shopping for us when we were small and then doing that for the grandchildren. We think he went to a toy store almost daily as Christmas approached! We were devastated that he left us at his favorite time of year. But then we realized, what more beautiful gift to receive than to spend Christmas in heaven! Every year thereafter, my brother has placed a bough from his Christmas tree on my Father’s grave, now my parents’ grave. Gradually, the tears turned to smiles and wonderful memories of all the Christmases spent with him...and how grateful we were to have had him! He had just turned 71 the month before he died. Still so much joy awaiting him here on earth we thought.
But we feel him always with us and are warmed by all those beautiful memories. He left us that as the best Christmas gift of all!
Your mother will do the same for all of you! Every Christmas will bring a wealth of loving memories of her and all she did to show her love for all of you...as well as memories of all fun you had with her! There’s special joy in heaven right now as “Junior” and Alda are together again and sending blessings and loving protection to the entire family! Just imagine that beautiful reunion!!
I send my love and prayers to your entire family at this sad time. Please tell me about the arrangements when they’re made.
Love, Cindy Horvath Rourke

Alda (Nona) was such an angel and will now be watching over all of the family. I'm so very sorry for your loss, Maria, Ritanne, Patrice, Joe and the entire family. I LOVED her Christmas cookies, they were THE BEST ever! I have such wonderful memories of weekend Mimosa parties and whatever wonderful treats she had baked. She will be sorely missed. Much love & peace from me to the entire family.
