So very sorry for your loss. I met Phil and brother Jeff in the 70s. Truely Phil was a loving and super funny guy. Carl my first husband were at his house when he fired up the motorcycle. He kick start that atleadt 25 times. It was tiring!. We were cheering him on and he finally got it started. He warmed it up and promptly drove it into the wall in the back of the garage. He forgot the brakes were bad. All we saw was feet sliding , knees pumping and his long curly hair flying. It was soooo funny. He and the bike made it. But the shit eating grin on his face afterward just floored Carl and I. We were crying we all laughed so hard. Yup Phil your humor and gentile spirit will be missed. When I read the paper this morning and saw that Phil had passed I was shocked, and sad. I did not know, until today, that the calling hours were yesterday. I would have liked to have been there to say goodbye. I have been friends with Phil for many years but have not seen him for some time. The last time I saw Phil was at the NY State Fair. He was eating an ear of roasted corn and, of course, was with Nancy. I spent a lot of time at his house on Rich street during and after high school. Along with Phil's other friends, we would play cards and plan the weekend festivities. When I think of those times, a smile appears on my face.
My wife and I would like to extend our sincere condolences to Nancy, Lisa, and the rest of the family.

Coach Wright was not only a coach to me, he was my best friend and he loved every single one of his players. Every game day he would yell out the “color of the day” which was the line we would have to stand behind on the sideline for the whole game. We would pick on each other all the time and he felt like family to me. Rest easy coach you will be missed.
