Dear Tynan Family,
I have known Kathy for over 35 years. She was one of my dearest friends and will be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness, her gentle smile, sense of humor and keen intellect. I will miss our phone conversations, which at times were lengthy, as we would be solving all of the worlds problems. As the matriarch of our Breakfast Club family, she willed be missed by us all. Love and miss you.
With my deepest condolences.

Typical of Kathy's checking in on her friends, she would always begin our conversations with a genuine, "Are you OK?" It seemed she always had her friends and family in her heart, keeping them close and watching over them. She bristled if you asked the same of her, despite the many medical issues she had at times. The picture that was posted of her seemed to be her calmly saying to all of us, "I'm OK. Don't worry; I'm OK". With her deep faith, I am sure that is true. I was fortunate to share many wonderful adventures with Kathy, our most favorite 10 days in Italy. She found joy and wonder in everyone, everyday, everywhere. Breakfast Club will always maintain a seat at the table for her. Attaching a memory of another favorite night of hers - celebrating her birthday.

I had Ms Tynon for 3rd grade in 1993-94. She was my favorite teacher ever. All of my friends who also had her say that as well. I got to see her a couple of years ago at St Pats and she had such a strong memory of that class, and who was in it, and stories about it. It was impressive, given how many kids she taught over the years. I can remember one time in her class we had an art project where we were to draw an object made of squares. Ie) Draw a bunch of squares connecting and make them into a sailboat, or a house, or whatever you wanted. I must not have been paying attention because I just drew a bunch of squares with the corners connecting and made some obscure object. I told her embarrassingly, "I think I screwed this up." She said, "that's okay, just make it abstract." I didnt know what she meant, so she told me to "draw all the lines in the background of your object a sky blue color and have the lines all going in the same direction." When I was done, it ended up looking really cool, and she told me it looked really good! The last day of the year, she came to my little league baseball game. She was the best teacher ever. RIP Ms Tynon. God bless.

I have known Kathy for many years. We have had many conversations over that time. She was a pleasure to work with and called to ask my advice or opinion many times. When calling we spoke about life in general and family more than what she originally called about. She will be missed. GOD has gained an angel.

Dear Kathy's Family,
Kathleen's love, light and kindness was apparent in everything she did. I cannot count the times this Breakfast Club friend has been part of so many wonderful memories over 35 years of friendship. Kathy listened - truly "listened" to people. I cannot imagine how many young people have benefited from her love of life and her strong faith. I will miss her more than I can say here. She is the light which will continue to shine brightly in my thoughts when I remember Kathy. One of our Breakfast Club ladies commented that we will no longer have to say "Kathy T" or "Kathy S" - I believe that distinction will stick. I love you and miss you, Kathy T.

We are saddened to hear about Kathy’s passing. I have know Kathy for years while working as the schools public health dental hygienist and then as I became the high school health teacher. Our daughter was blessed to have Kathy as her 4th grade teacher. She made such a huge difference in her life. She told her that it was ok to be quiet and accepted hr for who she was while helping to bring her out of her shell. She is the only teacher who was so kind, caring and understanding. She will be missed by so many. Prayers to all of you. Debbie D’Angelo

Kathy was eloquent, and such a beautiful soul. I will remember stories we had in the church parking lot with fondness as Kathy had a very funny sense of humor which would put me in state of tearful laughter. She could elaborate with you with such grace and she cared so much about her faith, the arts and her family. Know I will have her in my daily prayers & pray Our Blessed Mother has led her to her eternal home. May God bless your entire family

Dear Tynan family,
I know how very special Kathy (aka teacher “Miss Tynan”) was to her students, their families and her co-workers. As the Mom of two of her students at Cherry Road school, Kathy had an impact in our lives! She was an excellent teacher, had a funny sense of humor (the evil eye;-) and all while dealing with her own serious optical melanoma, and caring for her mother. It was an answered prayer that she was able to overcome her cancer, and live so many years.
In recent years, Kathy and I enjoyed talking and reminiscing as we enjoyed many parish activities at St. Patrick’s Church. I recently saw Kathy when she attended the funeral Mass for my beloved nephew, and was so supportive in our family’s grief.
A woman of deep Faith, I believe Kathy now rests in the arms of her Creator, Christ. I’m really sorry for her close friends’ and family’s loss. She certainly was a loving person and will be missed. Please accept my sincerest condolences, God bless you “Miss Tynan”.
