I was fortunate to be placed in Alida Bender’s classroom for my student teaching experience in 1985. She was wonderful! I inquired about her, out of the blue, on August 25 while chatting with a new acquaintance while at the fair. She was an excellent teacher!

I used to teach third grade with Alida, and also traveled to Cortland with her once a week to attend graduate classes. She was always a giving soul. I am so sorry to miss the funeral, but have dental surgery at the same time. I will keep her in my prayers, as weill as the family.
