Alida A. Bender, 84, of Syracuse passed away peacefully August 28, 2022.

Alida was graduate of Most Holy Rosary and Marywood College in Scranton, PA with a degree in teaching. She taught for 39 years at Palmer Elementary School in the Baldwinsville School District. She held a variety of interests that included taking care of her family, showing her dogs many of which were champions. She was an active member of the St. Michael-St. Peter Parish, where she spent many hours volunteering in many different capacities.

She is predeceased by her parents, Gary & Eve, brothers, Joseph M., Gary F. & Paul G., and her sister Julie.

Alida she is survived by her sisters, Laurie Hollenbeck, Becky, Chrysta (Robert) Mills, Ruth (Peter) DiGenaro, sister-in-law, Janice, brothers, Tony (Denise), Leonard, Andrew (Diane) as well as several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10am at St. Michael-St. Peter Church. A calling hour will be held from 9-10am prior to mass. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Michael-St. Peter Parish or Brookdale Bellevue assisted living.
