Maryanne Lorenz Obituary

Maryanne Lorenz, 78, passed away at the Nottingham, with her family beside her.


 


Maryanne was born, raised, and educated in Syracuse, NY. She was the daughter of the late William and Teresa Lorenz. Maryanne, graduated from Most Holy Rosary High School and LeMoyne College. She taught French in the North Syracuse School System for 38 years. Maryanne was a member of the Association of French teachers and served as Corresponding Secretary for the Central New York area. After she retired, she did volunteer work in the Syracuse City Schools. Maryanne has been a member of Most Holy Rosary Parish for all but 5 years of her life. She was Secretary of the Parish Council, helped with the Refugee Resettlement and taught Vacation Bible School. Maryanne was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority which is a service organization.


 


She was predeceased by her parents, William and Teresa, a sister, Barbara and her brother, Edward.


 


Maryanne is survived by her sister, Patricia (Lawrence) Horton, brothers, William and Thomas (Patricia) Lorenz, nephew, Tim (Megan) Horton, nieces, Molly (Aaron) Greenbaum and Megan Lorenz as well as grandnephews, Edward “Ned”, Patrick, and Thomas Horton.


 


The family wishes to thank the staff of the Nottingham RHCF for their extraordinary care for Maryanne.


 


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday 10am at Most Holy Rosary church, 111 Roberts Ave. A calling hour will be held from 9-10am prior to the mass. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
