Pat was a lifeline for many. Over the 30 plus years that I knew her, I cannot tell you how many times I witnessed her being thanked for phone calls she made, rides she offered & just going out of her way to say “hello” and “welcome” to St Andrew’s or St Lucy’s parishes. She was always there. Always ready to lend a hand. Always ready to make connections. She really was one of God’s chosen public service workers. On the front line and always with a smile. I happened to arrive early for a funeral at Lucy’s earlier this year. Just a handful of us in the church. Of course, Pat was there. She humbly allowed me to take this picture of present day Pat with a picture of a healthier version of herself. To me, she is & was always very present Pat. She saw you. She heard you. She prayed for you. Godspeed, good woman. I know your heavenly greeting will be warm and joyfilled. You touched so many hearts, Pat. You certainly touched mine. I am grateful. With much love, Clare Murray Volo

One of the attached photos is from the March for Our Lives event outside of the Everson Museum (March 2022). Sister Pat would attend marches or other activist events, and then ask "who else from St. Lucy's is here?" She kept a count. Then she would report at mass how many St. Lucy's folks were there and who she had seen. She believed in showing up and looked for others to be involved. She reminded me that showing up is important.
The other photo is from a service at St. Lucy's and it is reminder that we all have a part to play in our worship services.
Sister Pat, you're presence has been missed and will continue to be missed. You did SO much for St. Lucy's...including calling folks during the pandemic or when we felt you hadn't seem them at mass in a while. Thank you for being YOU!

To the sisters of st Francis of Syracuse. On behalf of myself and the staff and men from unity acres our deepest condolences on the passing of sister Pat. She was a good supporter of the acres in the past collecting food and clothing for the men. She also gave a lot of her time serving coffee and donuts to the people at the rescue mission on a weekday basis. She will be truly Miss by all who knew her especially the members at St Lucy parish in Syracuse NY. Rest in peace Sister.

Sister Pat made such an impact on her corner of the world and as testament, her loss is felt deeply and by many. Her honesty, kindness and devotion seemed without bounds. Her welcoming spirit embodied the teachings of Christ and allowed for an open hearted approach to demonstrate love. Her smile was an infectious and her energy seemed without end. She was in some ways a surrogate Grandmother to our two boys and always showed up at baseball and basketball games. She would be at concerts, special events, graduations and made them, and us, feel loved and special. I hope she knows how much we loved her. I hope she knows that her spirit will live on and on and we will never forget her. We were so blessed to have had her in our lives. With much love - Ellie, Zoe, Elden & Emmett Proper

Sister Pat was someone that when you meet, you immediately wonder how you can be more like them. She made me feel at home in Syracuse and called to check in on me all through our stints in LA. She lived life with immense integrity. Our family, along with many in Syracuse, will miss her presence.
