I was absolutely devastated to hear of Marilyn's passing and so sorry that I did not know so that I could have attended her funeral. My mom (Gen Damon), Marilyn's aunt, myself and two brothers (Ron & Dale) lived with Aunt Eleanor, Marilyn and Eddie for two years when I was a baby. As a young child, before Marilyn & Frank were married, I was taken on one of their dates whereby Frank carried me on his shoulders - I felt like a princess. Then I stayed with them in their apartment when Frankie was a baby - I remember their cat had just had kittens and I was in awe of them. I always enjoyed time spent with Marilyn and Frank. Marilyn had a genuine fondness for her cousins in Watertown and always kept in contact. I did not get too concerned when I did not get a Christmas Card as many people are abandoning that tradition although I did send her one. When I did not get a Birthday Card, I wondered as she never forgot my Birthday. My sister (Lucille Rowe) was in contact with Marilyn over the years with routine phone conversations. She had not heard from Marilyn so she kept trying to call only to be advised that the number was no longer in service. Finally, she called Frankie at work and was told by his co-worker that Marilyn had passed. Lucille was very distraught at this news. The Watertown Cousins loved Marilyn -- her smile and caring manner were a blessing -- she was such a special lady. Her Damon Cousins consisted of Lucille (the oldest) - then 5 Boys (Richard, Clifford, Philip, Ronald and Dale) - then me (the youngest). The 5 boys have passed leaving just me and Lucille. Besides Lucille and me, Marilyn was close to Dale and Ronald because they were around her age when we lived with them. There are so many memories. I want to extend my sympathy to Marilyn's children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful lady who treasured her family.
